A Star is Born

Jordan Orion is a content creator -- and a kick ass one at that.
When I started working with Sunglass LA I kept hearing the name Jordan. Jordan Orion -- “the face of SunglassLA”. After checking out her instagram needless to say: I was hooked. Not only is her feed plastered with all the colors of the rainbow, but her content is insane.

Living in Southern California, the term ‘influencer’ is commonly thrown around for instagrammers with a high following and the ability to reach out to a large amount of people. In some cases, ‘influencer’ has taken a negative connotation eluding to individuals who post surface level content, receive lots of free clothes, and only care about themselves and money.
You could not be more wrong.
Jordan has been working with SunglassLA for the past two years. Our brand manager, Khue, initially reached out to Jordan because, “she met all of our criteria as someone that we would love to have as a true brand ambassador. Her content was really good, also having considered that she was also in school full time. We were amazed by her eye for fashion/style and also composition”. What caught our eye was her content, “but the one thing that we love most about Jordan is her humility and kindness. She knew that we were a small company and we really don’t have the budget to pay for marketing content, but she was willing to help us anyway”.
As the photography intern and a creative myself, I wanted to meet Jordan in person and I was not disappointed.
It’s time we turn the spotlight onto her.
Sunglass LA focuses on the up and coming creators of our generation. It is our goal to enable and support a creative community.
We decided to switch things up and start working one on one with our content creators. I met Jordan at a Coffee Dose Event she hosted and was able to witness her in action. Not only is she churning out amazing content for her followers, but she’s also a GIRL BOSS. (Hopefully you got the movie reference).

I admire Jordan’s creativity and passion, but seeing her in person working was a whole new perspective.
Preparing for and accomplishing a photoshoot is a process. Working with Jordan was incredibly efficient, fun, and inspiring. Jordan presented a set of outfits along with the sunglasses she wanted to use in her photos. From there we drove around scouting locations. We hit seven different locations and covered seven looks. Talk about efficiency.

After working with Jordan I definitely came out of it with a new perspective on my process of photographing.
Content creating is more than just taking a photograph. It’s about telling a story and creating art. Each pose was interactive, unique, and engaging. Collaborating with Jordan was a new experience that inspired me.

They always say shoot for the stars, but the real trick is becoming a star. How are you going to leave your mark? Will you be someone that individuals look up to? You, just like every other individual on this planet have the potential to accomplish all of your wildest dreams.
We see you, we support you, and we want to learn your story. There are over 150 billion stars born per year in the entire Universe. Let the next star be you. Have faith in your capabilities and go out and manifest them.
Jordan, we will always support you - you are family. Thank you for giving us a peek into your world. You are an inspiration to others as well as us.
