Follow Your Dreams: An Interview with Julia O Test

Sunglass.LA is far beyond just a sunglass brand. It's a brand that has a desire to partner and build long
lasting relationships with those around us. SGLA recognizes the value of relationships with the community,
which is why we choose to partake in fun events and partner with other like-minded individuals. SGLA works
with fashion influencers all around, and having the chance to sit down one-on-one with those down to earth
people is quite the treat for us.

We had the amazing opportunity to sit down with blogger and photographer, Julia O Test. We met up with this
endearing individual at Shuhari Matcha Cafe in Venice Beach for a fun little interview and to get to know
her on a more personal level.

H I S T O R Y

15 years after being introduced to landscape photography, and a year after emerging into the world of fashion,
Julia O Test gained her followings and found her niche. Julia had her years of trial and error with shooting
weddings and portraits, but it just never felt right. Before, she thought the fashion industry was inaccessible,
but with the never ending changing world of social media, she found herself a spot for photography in fashion.

Julia recognized the power that influencer marketing has and began utilizing it. She started working with
bloggers, which is how she was able to evolve herself as a fashion photographer and content creator. Once
she really grounded her self-brand, she began working with other brands. Julia loves working with brands
who see the importance of relationships and that consumers recognize it. Just another reason we love Julia!

Julia lives in San Francisco, which is perfect for that
photography weather. However, she often travels to the
Los Angeles area once a month to shoot with bloggers
and local brands. O Test loves the energy and
inspiration that comes with Los Angeles.

the world is going through right now.

Julia's favorite part about being a blogger and photographer is having full control of her creativity. She worked in tech
for years and blogging is an avenue where she was able to start from scratch and build her way up. You don't need
to know the right people anymore.

Despite all the perks that comes with being a blogger, like meeting amazing people, there are also challenges. Blogging
is extremely time consuming, especially when you are doing your own shooting, editing, and time management.

It's challenging but exciting to be my own boss.

Comfy but edgy and cute.

Julia used to be into a more goth and tomboy style,
but emerged into the world of fashion and beauty.
Julia said she's permanently edgy because of her tattoos,
and we love it! Plus, we think tattoos look awesome with
her summer go-to style: one pieces, florals, and hats.
Comfort, ease, & style all in one, what more could you ask for?

Julia really hopes to be able to keep doing both photography and blogging where she can work
on both sides of the industry. It's really exciting to her to be able to do both things, and create
beautiful content. She also hopes to continue to grow her following as she works with some
amazing brands and bloggers.

Believe what you're blogging in.

Julia used to just post pictures of her photoshoots,
but there was no depth behind it. People reading
your content want to see, know, and feel that there
is a real person behind words on a screen. Julia wants
you to know that you have to be willing to work hard,
create quality content, be authentic, and be yourself.
