#IWasKimspired

I met Kimberly at the Coffee Dose Influencer Event for a brief moment and asked to take her photograph. Before the event I did not know of her account and blog, ‘Stop Look and Style”.
Her instagram is incredibly playful and unique. Kimberly even started her own hashtag: #IWasKimspired. One of my favorite things about her content is the focus and incorporation of movement, color, and story-telling. Her photographs do more than just showcase a certain brand or style, it engages the audience - leaving them inspired.

Finding inspiration as an artist becomes incredibly hard at times. As a photographer, I am constantly looking for new sources of inspiration. If you’re ever in a creative block, I highly recommend taking a look at Kimberly’s feed. Even better, message her!
Kimberly is deeply invested in her audience. Her followers are more than just a number, but a group of individuals whom she works to support, inspire, and spread love amongst. Kimberly is changing the way social media reaches their audience by creating genuine relationships with her followers.
I felt so lucky to work with Kimberly and hear her all about her ambitions. Kimberly is a role model for young girls of all ethnicities, spreading a message of confidence, love, and empowerment. One thing I absolutely loved was how she told me she often jumps on phone calls with her followers. Where some influencers do not interact with their followers, Kimberly wants to help them in anyway possible.

I reached out to Kimberly to collaborate and within the day we had set up a photo shoot for the following day. I was super excited to see her in action. Coming from a commercial photography background, I’m used to working with models. The posing remains fairly consistent, hand on the face, pouting, serious looks, and so forth. With Kimberly our collaboration was a team effort.
We started off looking for a pop of color. From there we attempted different angles that skewed the point of view.
Kimberly is a woman with a vision. Within her mind her creativity is reaching to surpass what is mundane and normal. The photo shoot was incredibly interactive and had me laughing and smiling the entire time. Whether she was throwing her hat at the camera, running up and down the escalator, flipping her skirt, climbing busses, or trying to get the perfect backdrop inside of a boba shop, I was thoroughly amused. Photographing Kimberly was inspiring. Her hashtag is incredibly fitting for the positive energy and fluid creativity she gives off.
Here are a few photographs from our photoshoot.

Kimberly truly is a unique and beautiful individual, both inside and out. Getting to work with her in person allowed me to learn more about her and I can genuinely say this woman is so selfless and lively.
If one or more of Kimberly’s photographs inspire you to create something, make sure to tag #IwasKimspired!
Let’s change the way social media runs and create a community that focuses on genuine connection and fostering creativity and confidence.
Until next time SGLA babes,
